Domain Flipping
1 Comment
Well I’ve been very slack over the last few days as I’ve been busy with a few things offline for a change. Anyway today I’ve grabbed a few domains and I will be listing the final auction for this month in a day or two. This auction will only be a 3 day auction which isn’t as good as a 5 day auction but seeing as it’s nearly the end of the month I have no choice.
I will also be relisting a couple of domains that people did not pay for within the allotted time and in addition I hope to grab a couple more today and maybe tomorrow also. Once I get this lot of auctions up and running then it will just be a matter of waiting for them to finish and then I will have a tally up to see if I’ve made money for the month and then it will be on to the next project!
Forgot to mention that I managed to grab another Page Rank 3 domain that will go on the chopping block but much like the last one I purchased it really depends on when it is actually transferred (took over a week for my last one I think) but hopefully it will sell for a profit whether it’s large or not doesn’t matter, just a profit will do!
Another thing to note is that there are a ton of Page Rank 3 domains available daily but I only buy them if they are somewhat suitable for purchase and by that I mean two or three word domains that make sence for example here are some Page Rank 3 domains that are currently available (note that I haven’t checked for PR accuracy but if I was contemplating purchasing I would verify they are PR 3 before purchasing).

Notice how the domains aren’t very specific or generic enough for anybody to use so thats why I wouldn’t bother buying them even though they are PR3.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that some guy is selling a monthly subscription for expired domains, he will take a list of 50 000 - 60 000 expired domains daily and filter them down to around 5000 or less and then send them to his subscribers to look at and then they can purchase domains if they think there are any good ones. This guy uses the exact same software and technique that I have been using so I could have probably started the exact same thing when I first started this project, that would have helped the profit margin but the reality is that domain flipping was the main purpose of this blog and not setting up a subscription service but it’s an interesting twist.

Domain Flipping

O.k so after a few hours of reading last night trying to get up on this domain flipping gig I’m thinking I’ve got it kind of figured out. I got a hold of 3 different domain flipping products and basically devoured them over a few hours. So today I thought I had better put into practise what I had learnt. The good thing about reading 3 different manuals means I can take pieces from each to make my own idea or format to go ahead with while in the same time making sure not to stray to far from what the ebooks I read suggested.
So basically I got up this morning and started the first step on my domain flipping journey. Using a site suggested in one of the ebooks I managed to get a list of domains that had expired and past a 5 day holding period. I’ve found out that the 5 day holding period is for the registrars so they can see if there is a sizeable amount of traffic going to a particular deleted domain so they can have first bite and register it, if not they just let it go and us mere mortals can have a go.
Now as I mention I downloaded this list which had a staggering 50 000+ domains and I had to weed through it to try and find a few diamonds in the rough! Luckily one of the ebooks suggested some free filtering software which I could download and use to weed out the list. After having downloaded and run the software I was left with a list of 3000 which is still a fair amount of domains to look through. Again the ebooks came in handy as they suggested a site where I could check 500 domains at a time to see if they were available for registration.
After going through this list I was left 6 domains that I thought I might be able to make a buck or two on. One of the ebooks also suggested a site where I might find some good domains so I took a look there and managed to find1 domain. So in total today I have registered 7 brand new domains at a cost of around $60US so I’m in the RED already!
Now the next part is selling them and of course I’m going to try and offload them on the worlds biggest marketplace, Ebay. Now using some of the suggestions in the book I’ve managed to list 4 of my domains for sale already and I will upload another 3 auctions after I have finished this post.
These auctions are listed for 5 days which is good as I will be able to fix up this blog like I intended and get some more content up. I think the auctions are due to finish next week on Wednesday so I will hopefully posting back then with some positive information.
In the meantime I’m going to keep searching for domains and posting here if I think I find any good ones, I think my credit card is in for a rough ride this month!
Any comments are welcome!
