Well I haven’t really been updating this blog much because there isn’t really a lot to update. In review I started to promote a product via the bum marketing method one month ago. I picked a clickbank product to promote and then set up a blog, got my hoplink and then wrote a few articles and submitted them to one article directory.

It only took a couple of days before I had my first sale so that was pretty good although it proved to be the exception rather than the rule. As of writing this my blog is currently on the second page of Google for it’s keyword phrase and it’s recieving traffic although it’s not a heck of a lot but obviously enough to get a few sales.

I’ve only made 3 posts to the blog itself so I really haven’t had a lot to do with it but the good thing is that it’s still bringing in the odd sale every now and then so I’m happy, i don’t even know if I will touch that blog again although I might write a few more articles because that means more traffic which means the more chance of getting some more sales.

Also a week ago I decided that I would create another blog as I came across a new product that I thought would do well so I went about basically copying what I had done with the first blog. Although it’s not recieving alot of traffic it’s still getting some and that’s all that matters.

The Result?

Well after my exhaustive month of bum marketing…….o.k probably only about 2 days in total I finished off making just under $200 for the month which again isn’t too bad considering I haven’t done buggar all and one good thing is that over the last 2 days I have made 2 sales with the new blog and what’s even better is that I’ve made a sale a day for the last 4 days straight so things might be picking up. Another thing is that even if i don’t do anything more with these blogs, I’m still going to get the odd sale every now and then.

Now I have set my payment threshold to $250 for clickbank so once it passes that level they will send out my check and I am going to stick that money on my camera so I can pay it off quicker. Last months profits went into a lens for my camera but it was worth it as I’m having a ton of fun taking photos of the kids downg the stadium playing their sports. So this is what my camera looks like now with the new lens I purchased with last months profits.

Now there is one more lens that I wouldn’t mind buying off ebay but it’s gonna cost around $300 for it so as much as I would like to I think I’m going to have to wait until I’ve paid off a large chunk of the balance owing on my camera before I can think of getting it buy hey you have to have goals don’t you!

Actually here is a picture of my next goal, the Canon 85mm f/1.8 , it’s one step up from my 50mm lens that I got last month.

Well I haven’t updated the blog in a while and it’s not really because I’ve been busy, it’s really because I’ve been just too damn lazy! Anyhow, I haven’t done any more promotion on the blog although it doesn’t seem to matter too much. It’s averaging between 40-60 visitors a day which isn’t a lot but it’s better than nothing so I’m not complaining. It’s currently ranking on the 3rd page of Google now for it’s keyword/phrase which isn’t very flash but as I mentioned I haven’t done any further promotion nor have I made another post on the blog so it’s really to be expected.

One good thing however is that since my last post I’ve managed to get another 2 commissions which is really cool. This makes 4 sales in total which I’m pretty happy with, hopefully by the end of the month I might end up with 6-7 sales from that blog, perhaps even more, we’ll see.

Another thing to note is that I just finished making another blog today to ‘Bum Market’ and I’ve already made a post to the blog and also made a promo video. In addition I’ve written a couple of articles and hopefully I’ll write another 3 for a total of 5 articles for this product then I might or might not write a few more.

So for the rest of this month I will have 2 blogs to bum market with and hopefully the second blog starts to produce commissions as quickly as the first blog did, it will all add up in the end!

Just a quick update as I haven’t updated in a while. Not much has been happening on the bum marketing scene this week, in fact I have done buggar all this week with regards to the site. I’ve basically just sat back to see if anything is happening with my blog.

There have been no additional sales yet which is a bit dissapointing but I think it will only be a matter of time before another sale or two pop up in the clickbank account.

The site is slowly creeping up the search engines and today I noticed that it’s just popped up on the second page of Google for my chosen keword phrase which is good. Hopefully with a bit more promotion it wil get on to the first page of Google and close to the top which will piss some webmasters off because I know they are making some decent money with this product and this keyword term.

The articles and other promotion seem to be doing their job of sending traffic the blogs way and basically everything else is on autopilot. I’ll post a screenshot from my free stats account which shows how much traffic it has recieved.

Hopefully this level of traffic will keep up or even grow which should lead to sales.

Tomorrow I plan to make another blog and choose another clickbank product to promote, it’s just a matter of finding a product to promote. I might fast track the promotion with this blog , I’m not too sure yet.

Well I actually got a bit or work today which is pretty good considering I had a big night last night at my work function but I wanted to at least submit 10 unique articles to the article directory and I managed to get that done today so I’m happy with that. At the moment there are 5 articles which are driving traffic to my blog ,in fact that’s where most of the traffic is coming from. Another thing I did was look up the keyword phrase that I’m targeting on Google and there was a question on a forum related to the product I’m promoting so I left a comment there which of course leads to my blog, this too has been a good supply of traffic.

I’m not recieving massive amounts of traffic but that’s to be expected, the blogs only 6 days old although at the time of this post the blog has recieved 51 visitors today which isn’t too bad. The really good thing today though was that there was ANOTHER COMMISSION in my account. That makes 2 sales now which is better than I thought as the product I’m promoting would have a lot of freebie seekers and I really didn’t expect to get and sales for at least 2 weeks but hey I’m not complaining.

I’m going to write a few classified ads tonight to hopefully help with traffic generation and once my most recent lot of articles are accepted I might write a few more although I am struggling to find any more keyword phrases/keywords to write about but seeing as it’s a good source of traffic I will have to try and be a bit more creative.

At this stage the blog is no where to be found on Google but hopefully within the next couple of weeks I can slowly work my way up where I can start to recieve more free traffic.

What do bum marketing and the NBA have in common? Well, me at the moment. Yesterday was never going be a very productive day with the first game of the NBA finals on TV, plus I had a school game to coach but despite all the destractions I did manage to get some bum marketing work done. I created another blog, wrote a couple of more articles so I could use them on my other funnel sites, so I did actually manage to get some work done.

My main blog recieved around 45 visitors yesterday, the majority coming from the 5 articles that I wrote and  now I’m starting to notice traffic coming from a couple of the funnel sites. No additional sales have been made but I didn’t really expect to make any sales within the first week or two anyway, I think I must have just got lucky with that first sale.

I really want to start pushing the main blog so I can get it ranking well in the search engines as there is nothing better than targeted search engine traffic. The good thing about bum marketing is that unlike the domain method from last month, any work I do now will continue to ‘bear fruits’ , by that I mean even after this month is finished all the work that I have done during the month will continue generating traffic and sales.

Don’t expect to get much work done as I have a work function to attend but hopefully I will get a couple more articles done and maybe even a few more for the funnel sites.

Well nothing much happened on day 4 to report about because I was too busy and spent too much time looking for a lens for my new camera on Ebay. I found the lens that I want , now I just have to make some money so I can buy it without the Mrs throwing something at me! So I didn’t actually get any ‘Bum‘ work done yesterday (day 4)  and also the blog still had not recieved any visitors but I’m glad to say today that my articles got approved (5 of them) and at the time of this post (mid afternoon) that the blog has recieved 65 visitor and do you know what? I checked into my Clickbank account so I could see how many people had clicked through my blog to the affiliate product and 17 people had, so roughly that’s a 1 in 4 clickthrough rate which is pretty good……….but do you know what’s even better…………I HAD A SALE!!………..yep there was one commission payment sitting in my Clickbank account!!….that rocks!!

So after that good news I’m going to finish off the domain section then get back to work and write some more articles, make some more funnel sites and hopefully get some more commissions!!

Not much happening really since the last post. Tuesdays are a bad day for me and I really don’t get time to do much on the computer if anything at all. So all I managed to do yesterday was submit another article to the article directories which makes 5 in total so far but it seems as if the directories are on a bit of a go slow as none of the articles have yet been approved. At this stage the blog hasn’t recieved any traffic although the feeder sites have attracted a couple of visitors.

All I can really do tonight is write a few more articles and create a few more feeder sites so that’s basically what I will do and hopefully it will create a source of traffic for the blog.

Back to writing more articles!

Well after getting the blog up yesterday I thought I had better do some work and promote the thing. Now I might have mentioned that I really don’t like article writing but for bum marketing it’s and essential piece of the equation . So in between watching T.V, eating and playing with the kids I managed to write 4 articles which I submitted to an Article Directory. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the articles to be accepted and then hopefully I will start to see a trickle of traffic to the blog. Actually writing the articles were pretty easy and I’m by the 3rd and 4th article it was only taking me around 10 mins to do an 400 word article which isn’t too bad. I plan to have at least 10 articles submitted to the article directory this week.

Another thing I did today was to add tracking to my blog so I can actually see when and if I do eventually get any visitors. I also created a lens which means I had to basically write another article to use on it so I actually ended up writing 6 articles today which for me is pretty good as normally I would pay someone to do them for me. I also started promoting my lens because as I mentioned I’m trying to create funnels which will send traffic to the blog and hopefully this leads to sales!

I also made one new post to my blog so that’s where the 6th article came into the equation. Now if I keep this level of activity up I honestly think it will only be a matter of time before my blog starts to rise in the SE and hopefully this means I will make some money, mind you that’s if I keep that level of activity up and today was a public holiday but, I still hope to submit at least 10 articles this week and post to my blog every day this week (good to set goals!)

So I’ve decided Bum Marketing is going to be the idea that I run with this month. For those of you who aren’t sure what bum marketing is I suggest you take 5 minutes and look it up on Google. If, like me you are lazy and can’t be bothered I’ll give you a quick breakdown of what it is.

Essentially it’s finding a niche with low competition and a lot of long tail keywords and then writing aritcles based around those keywords which end up dominating the search engines and sending traffic towards your site.

I’ve decided to extend the term ‘bum‘ a bit further and will make it so even a ‘bum‘ off the street could afford to do this. By this I mean I won’t pay for anything, everything I do for the first week or two will only cost me time and effort, you won’t have to pay for a site, domain ,hosting or anything. If I was to do this my way I would get the articles written for me and buy a domain and make a site but I’ve decided not to do this at this stage and just concentrate on the freebie way!

Now I don’t expect to make any revenue from this method for the first couple of weeks and I’m undecided as to whether I am going to make 1, 2, 3 or 4 products/sites during the course of the month but I’d imagine at least 2.  I’m focusing on Clickbank product(s) to promote and have already signed up a brand spanking new clickbank account to use for this blog .

So at this stage I have already been to clickbank and found a product that I think I can make a buck or two off. I’ve already created my ’site’ which will be the ’selling’ page for this product and of course seeing as it has to be free I’m using a blogger blog. I have added one post to the site at this stage and made a custom header for it to give it a more professional look. I think I’m going to post to it once a day for the first week to see if I can get some organic seo traffic. Meanwhile I will be writing articles and submitting them to directories so hopefully it sends traffic back to my blogger blog.

Now, to be honest I hate writing articles and I often get articles written for me, not because it is hard but more because I’m too lazy, I can easily write an aritcle in around 10 minutes and I’m going to have to do it because of this little challange. So tonight I will be writing a few articles in addition to creating a few more ‘funnel’ sites which will send traffic (hopefully) to the blog where they will click through on my affiliate link so that I make a sale.

So that’s about it for now, I’m off to create a feeder site or write an article or two.
